Dr.-Ing. Markus Bröckerhoff
studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University
with the focus on automotive engineering. From 2001 until
2006 he was employed at the Institute of Automotive
Engineering Aachen (ika). In the body department he worked
on different material concepts for the vehicle body with
regard to crash safety. In 2006 he finished his PhD about
“Improvements of the vehicle structure for lateral pole
impact” and changed to Forschungsgesellschaft Kraftfahrwesen
mbH Aachen (fka). Since 2006 he is responsible for the
passive safety group at ika/fka. |

Dipl.-Ing. Ahmed Benmimoun
studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University
with the focus on automotive engineering. Since 2001 he is
employed at the Institut für Kraftfahrzeuge in Aachen. Here
he was focussing on the development and assessment of driver
assistance systems in simulation and experimental vehicles
and the modelling of driver behaviour in the traffic flow
simulation tool PELOPS. In 2004 he became team leader for
driver assistance systems. Since 2005 he is the head of the
traffic department. |

Professor Dr.-Ing. habil.
J.-W. Biermann has studied in the faculty of Mechanical
Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, completing
with the Diploma degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Automotive
Engineering. In 1981, he received his PhD (Dr.-Ing.) and in
1988 he took his professorship. He is also giving several
courses at RWTH Aachen University. Beside that he is
guest-lecturer at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University in Bonn,
the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen as well as the
Thai Graduate German School in Bangkok.
He is Director at the Institute of Automotive Engineering
and head of the drivetrain and the acoustics department.
Based on more than thirty years engineering experience, he
is responsible for multifarious R&D projects, which are
carried out worldwide for vehicle manufacturers and
suppliers as well as public research foundations.
He is member of the advisory editorial board of both the
Journal of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (ImechE,
London) and the Journal of The Korea Society of Automotive
Engineers (KSAE, Seoul). |

Dr. Wolfgang Bernhart has been working in the automotive industry for 15 years. In 1993,
he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Karlsruhe's Institute of Production Science (thesis paper on Calculation In Parallel To Development).
After serving as Key Account Director Daimler at COVISINT in Amsterdam, he managed the European automotive activities at Arthur D.
Little between 2003 to 2006. He has been Partner at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants GmbH since 2007.
He consults German and international companies on topics ranging from operating processes and organizational issues to global strategic realignment.
He is a specialist on development and technology topics. Wolfgang Bernhart has clients in Germany, France, Italy, Russia, the US, China,
etc. Dr. Bernhart has written various articles and lectured on various hot topics, e.g. new powertrain concepts (incl. electric and hybrid vehicles)
CO2/consumption reduction, low-cost business models and challenges and opportunities in emerging markets (esp. Russia and China). |

Studied Automotive Engineering at the RWTH Aachen (Technical University Aachen). Since 1996 he was employed as a Scientific Assistant of the „Institut für Kraftfahrwesen der RWTH Aachen (ika)“ (Institute of Automotive Engineering). From 1996 to 2000 he was working at the Acoustic (NVH) Department on the field of analysing and measuring of noise and vibration, development of new measurement procedures and evaluation of chassis-nvh. Since 2000 he is the head of the Chassis Department at ika and fka. He is also working in the field of market and technology studies. In the year 2002 he changed to fka. He is responsible for the project planning, management and co-ordination in the chassis department with 25 engineers. |

After one year of working at a giant telecommunication company in Italy, he joined the Bosch Group in 1995. He started as an application engineer in the Diesel Systems Division and then took over project manager assignments. In 1999 he was appointed Quality Manager for Robert Bosch Italy and in 2002 Key Account Manager. In 2004 he took over the responsibility for sales and application within the Chassis Systems Division for the Italian customers. Since July 1st, 2007 he has taken over the responsibility of the Chassis Systems Control Division in China. |
